MASSAGE FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT WELLNESS & HOLISTIC LIVING
The massage and bodywork performed in this practice are more accurately described as manual therapy as many clinical and therapeutic techniques are used to treat acute and chronic muscle and soft tissue strain patterns and posture issues due to improper muscle balance.
Acute and chronic muscle and soft tissue strain patterns can be caused by many sources, but common causes are stress, trauma, injury, poor posture, and repetitive activities.
The goals of manual therapy include assisting in the rehabilitation and prevention of muscle and soft tissue dysfunction. The basis for use of any or all of the techniques used in manual therapy is an accurate assessment of posture and gait and the documentation and charting of the results from session to session.
The benefits of this approach results in:
- Identifying sources of improper muscle balance and tone.
- Restoring functional range of motion and flexibility.
- Improving Symmetry in muscle and soft tissues and restoring biomechanical “whole body” balance.
- Evaluating and improving gait (walking patterns).
- Client self-care recommendations stress management, strength, and endurance programs.
- Various manual therapy and energetic techniques are available as tools to accomplish the above. A partial list includes:

Reflexology for Health and Wellness
Huiling Lockard (Jayde), Reflexologist
Jayde is from Harbin China and previously worked in Beijing China as an advanced skincare specialist and Reflexologist. She managed a Hair and Beauty Salon that also offers other Chinese healing services such as reflexology, facial scraping, cupping, moxibustion, colonics, and massage. Huiling (Jayde) is highly qualified in her field, having earned two Third Level/Senior Skill Occupational Qualification Certificates, issued by The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, The People's Republic of China.
Reflexology for Health and Wellness. Services are offered for 30 or 60 minutes. Reflexology is an ancient healing modality that has been used by most cultures as a means of healing the mind-body and spirit. Most cultures have used some type of practice of healing on the feet for centuries. The most notable examples are the Egyptians, Chinese, and Hindu cultures. The principle philosophy is there are points on the feet that relate reflexively to all parts of the body. Manipulating the feet with a specific thumb and finger reflexing technique, activates the foot reflexes and stimulates, balances the part of the body represented by the foot reflex zone. Reflexology is different from foot massage. Reflexology is a systematic and thorough manipulation of the feet using very specific techniques as opposed to random rubbing of the feet during a massage. Reflexology can be done for relaxation purposes or it can be used for a very specific therapeutic purpose. Just as massage has relaxing and soothing techniques, reflexology can be done gently for relaxing purposes or with deeper pressure for a more stimulating healing effect.

Therapeutic Neuromuscular Massage
Olga Kovalyova, Therapeutic Massage Therapist
Neuromuscular Therapy, which is a scientific therapy based on anatomical laws and physiological principles. It pays very close attention to alignment, condition of soft tissue, and the release of adhesions and restrictions throughout the body, and can help eliminate many medical problems, large and small, through working on trigger points (pressure points) found throughout the body.
Olga practices, teaches and continually studies therapeutic massage with the utmost dedication and passion. She attended and graduated from the well-regarded Academy of Somatic Healing Arts (ASHA) in Atlanta, GA. Upon graduation, she was immediately offered a rare position at the school as an assistant teacher and then a full-time teacher. Over time Olga evolved her technique by integrating the best from different massage modalities - Deep Tissue, Clinical Sports Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Swedish and Thai Massage - as well as her work with chiropractors and studies leading to teaching yoga and Pilates.
Olga also pays close attention to the comfort level of her clients, with nurturing and sensitive therapeutic touch. She attributes that attention to her finely detailed studies and career as a classically trained pianist. Olga says, "The same focus of mind and touch that are used to create intricate and beautiful music on the piano, can be applied to the practice of therapeutic massage."
Olga's massage specialties include Neuromuscular Therapy, which is a scientific therapy based on anatomical laws and physiological principles. It pays very close attention to alignment, condition of soft tissue, and the release of adhesions and restrictions throughout the body, and can help eliminate many medical problems, large and small, through working on trigger points (pressure points) found throughout the body. Her other specialty is Pre and Postnatal Massage, which holds a special place in her practice. Her treatments include all applicable Neuromuscular Therapy techniques, with specialized knowledge and attention focused exclusively on mother and baby.
For Olga, creativity and knowledge are used to achieve your wellness goals. Whether those goals be relaxation and stress relief, or more series issues - headaches, shoulder pain, frozen shoulder, lower and upper back problems, wrist and knee pain, etc... - alignment of the body's natural structure and balancing tone of soft tissue can make the body's joints be better mobilized, and increased range of motion is achieved. All can be helped through the proper application of clinical massage therapy.
