Yoga

Classical Yoga

This class welcomes students of all levels- both the true beginner, and the more experienced students interested in a reminder of proper alignment, pranayama (breathing), and meditation techniques. We will discuss inspiring Classical Yoga philosophy, and learn how to bring the spirit of Yoga both into our practice, and our daily lives.

Restorative Yoga

Come explore the ancient practice of Yoga. Using constant support, learn the postures, breathing and relaxation techniques that allow you to exercise with ease. This class is appropriate for returning exercisers or those experiencing injury or chronic discomfort.

Yoga - All Levels

This class will include meditation, pranayama (breath work), and asana. Variations and modifications will be available for each asana so that students of all levels of experience will be able to enjoy the class and grow their practice. Increase your strength, stamina and flexibility while cultivating an awareness of your body, mind and spirit.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga classes involve a relaxed practice of floor postures that are held from three to five minutes at a time. There are far fewer postures (asanas) in the yin style of yoga as are found in more active styles. These asanas are intended to target the joints and connective tissues of the body. It is a quiet and slow practice that is very complimentary to the more muscular yang type yoga.

Gentle Yoga

This class is designed for the student starting a yoga practice or for those who are re-establishing an exercise routine. The class will include breath awareness, asana (postures) and guided relaxation resulting in increased flexibility and reduced tension. Students will move through the basic yoga postures at an easy and gentle pace.

Mind Body Fusion

Combines the ancient arts of Tai Chi and Yoga with the more modern program of Pilates. By utilizing all three of these practices, we can gain more muscle strength, firm and tone the body, and continue to use the breath to calm the mind to make it all come together. Although prior knowledge of tai chi, yoga and pilates is not required, this class does move at a moderate pace.

Gentle Yoga - Donation Class

Restore a sense of peace in your life through a gentle yoga practice. This class is designed for those who are re-establishing an exercise program or yoga students who would  enjoy a slower paced class. This donation based class is provided as a community service to make the benefits of yoga available and affordable to everyone.

Youth Yoga and Pilates

Youth yoga and Pilates is a series of classes designed to enlighten young students as to the strength, flexibility and poise available within themselves. Belly Dancing with Nyla

Nyla

Nyla’s unique style reflects great emotion, characteristic of the Dances of Central Asia, and sensuality of the traditional Danse Orientale. Nyla's class material includes breakdown of the basic shapes, steps, and traveling techniques; creating foundation for layering, with a focus on developing proper posture, flexibility, and muscular control. Movement, shapes and combination drills help improve technique while providing a perfect cardio workout. Nyla was born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan - the heart of Central Asia, on the crossroads of the ancient "Silk Road."

Inspired by Erkinoy, a former lead dancer of the famous Uzbek dance troupe "Bahor," and later her private instructor, she began studying Middle Eastern Dance, along with Uzbek, Persian and Gypsy Dance at the age of 16. Her extensive training consists of various forms of folk dance, ballet, figure skating and synchronized swimming, and of course Middle Eastern Dance (Bellydance).
